Going Places after a ViSTA course

Laura case studyLaura enrolled on the course in the first place because she was looking into some further study and said the course looked really varied and interesting.
Laura says, “In the sector I was working in, it enabled me to access Vista programmes easily and my employer was happy for me to carry it out, which was a great support!”

Laura liked many things about the course but what she liked best was meeting new people from other organisations, the distance study, a really helpful tutor and gaining an insight into a very interesting topic area.

If you’re thinking of enrolling on a Vista accredited course here’s what Laura says: “The course is excellent, covering many aspects of community work. What’s great is that many of the topic areas could be applied to many other work contexts, not just Community Development work.”

“I am going places now - I have now gone on to a really exciting new job position, not directly carrying out Community Development work, but I know I have these experiences on my CV. The course inspired me to think widely about communities, their challenges and the importance of getting involved and being part of a cohesive community."
